By increasing the voltage on the PC board, this also lowers the current (amps) and lessens heat throughout the under valve cover harnesses to help them last longer. It has been dyno'd on a normally healthy engine to increase by as much as 20hp.

There are many people who have completed this upgrade themselves with great success, but if you are not comfortable soldering on a pc board, then we suggest not trying this as a replacement IDM is not cheap.
